I currently volunteer my time to a local animal rescue. "Last Chance Animal Rescue" rescues not only various types of pets (animals) but also rescues all the strays of our county. I work as both a Fundraiser and Humane Education Coordinator. For the last 12 years, I've traveled to Los Angeles to visit "The Price Is Right" and to see my hero and host of the show, Bob Barker. Being an animals rights activist and advocate, Bob formed a Foundation named the DJ&T Foundation. He named it after his wife and mother and he funds it with his own income. The foundation funds grant money to low income families to help spay and neuter their pets and helps clinics to help low income families as well. By doing this he raises awareness of the pet overpopulation problems. He also raise awareness of other animal rights issues and he fights to help save lives of all animals. Mr. Barker has inspired me over the years to fight for the rights of all animals and to help give them a voice. Watching Bob on stage for almost 39 years of my life has earned him my respect for the sacrifices he has made in his life and he does it mainly for the animals. This is why I think the Shure Pets program will help me to fulfill some of the same desires that Mr. Barker has been able to accomplish in his life, only for me in a much narrow perspective. Remember as Bob says at the end of all his shows,"This is Bob barker reminding you to help control the pet population, have your pet spayed or neutered."
